Does Orlando Bloom’s son still not have a name?

It’s been around 10 days since Miranda Kerr reportedly shoved out Orlando Bloom’s huge 10-pound baby, and we still don’t have a name released. I like Cactus Bloom, but Kaiser prefers Mirlando Kerr-Bloom.

One rumor has it that Orlando just can’t decide on a name.

Orlando Bloom is struggling to pick a name for his baby son, reveals his mum.

The Lord of the Rings star, 33, became a dad last Thursday after his supermodel wife Miranda Kerr, 27, gave birth in Los Angeles.

Orlando was overheard boasting about his firstborn boy outside hospital.

New granny Sonia, from Canterbury, Kent, said: “They are both absolutely ecstatic. I am beyond happy.”

But she added: “They have a list of names and he tells me they are struggling to choose one.”

[Daily Mirror]

X17 has pictures of Orlando riding his motorcycle around LA this weekend. Hmmm, what about Harley Bloom? Or Ducati Bloom?

You know the Blooms will release the baby boy’s name soon and the name will be something vanilla like John.

In other Orlando news, Kaiser reported the rumor that he’s going to be paid $1 million for 2 minutes of screentime in The Hobbit. This better not be true. I don’t want a freakin’ Legolas cameo, I want a story line and arrow fondling and lots of pretty Orlando in a blonde wig.

If Orlando’s only going to be Legolas in the film for 120 seconds, he better spend 118 of those seconds going down on Aragorn.

Helen Mirren’s secret to red carpet success? Stripper heels

Celebrities Comments Off

wenn3000462
It’s pretty much common knowledge that Helen Mirren is the coolest Dame around (sorry, Judy Dench). She always looks great, she has Russell Brand worshiping at her feet, and occasionally she says some dingbat stuff that makes you wonder if she’s sniffing glue.

But how can you stay mad at a 65-year-old woman who says her secret to red-carpet success is stripper heels?

My red-carpet secret is…The stripper shoes I buy on Hollywood Boulevard: 10-inch heels with 5-inch platforms. They make your legs look wonderful.

If I weren’t acting…I’d be a hairdresser. I have a bit of a Delilah complex. I love to cut people’s hair! Unfortunately my husband won’t let me cut his.

I would love to work with…Quentin Tarantino. He is a superb filmmaker, visceral and fantastic. The two Kill Bill films were brilliant.

I am most afraid of…Plastic bottles. Their proliferation is terrifying. They won’t go away, and people are not getting the message. We’re destroying the bloody planet!

My style icon is…Helena Bonham Carter. She’s unique, bohemian, and inventive. I also love Lady Gaga’s radical use of fashion.

My biggest splurge is…an old farmhouse in southern Italy that my husband and I are renovating. That’s one reason why I buy drugstore makeup — I spend $5 on mascara and $5 million on a ruin!

Crowning glory…When I was first nominated for an Oscar, I made the mistake of treating it like a British wedding and thought a hat appropriate. Still, I think it’s sad that Americans don’t wear hats!

[InStyle, print edition, January 2011]

How cool would it be to see Helen Mirren as Lady Gaga in “The Lady Gaga Story,” directed by Quentin Tarantino and co-starring Helena Bonham Carter as Katy Perry? Russell Brand could play himself. Until then, I guess we’ll have to settle for Helen and Russell in the Arthur remake, which I also think is brilliant casting.

Note by CB: We couldn’t actually find any photos of Helen wearing said stripper heels. She’s talked about this before, and Kaiser and I think that she just means regular high heels. She’s a strange one.

NCIS’s Cote de Pablo is an old-soul hippie in real life

Celebrities Comments Off

wenn5568699

Cote de Pablo plays bad-ass Israeli agent Ziva David on the hit show NCIS, but in real life she’s more of yoga-addicted Latina homebody with refreshingly down-to-earth views on weight and body shape.

I always describe myself as sort of a hippie. Deep inside, I’m not a glamorous person. I come from a traditional, conservative world.

You don’t seem like a hippie, though.
I always say I’ll be a great older character actor [laughs] because I somehow identify with women who have gone through things, like the women in Stephen Sondheim’s musicals. Maybe it’s because I’m an older soul. I don’t know why at such a young age I could understand where they were coming from. Maybe it was the loss of my country at such a young age. Maybe it does something to you.

So you love food–but you’ve never had a weight problem.
I had lots of issues with my stomach a few years ago. I had wanted to get off the Pill, because I’d been on it for a while and I thought that at some point I would want to get pregnant. So I took a shot of Depo-Provera for birth control. Within two months, voom, I gained fifteen pounds in my belly because it felt like it was pregnant. It was an eye-opener.

It really affected you, didn’t it?
There were two ways of looking at it: You could say, “Oh, God,” and cry about it, or say, “You know what? This is who I am. I’m going to be carrying a little more weight, and I don’t care.” Sometimes nature needs to do what it has to do to get something out of your system. And then, once it’s out, you’re fine.

How long did it last?
It took me about two years to get back on track. I went back on the Pill, and eventually everything went back to the way it had always been. I feel so much better now.

What sort of yoga do you practice?
Four or five days a week, I do open flow Vinyasa [breath-synchronized yoga]. I bring a teacher, who happens to be a great friend, to my house. You look at this woman’s body and you go, “Wow, the benefits of yoga!” You can see that there’s a lift everywhere. And it’s completely natural. There’s nothing fake about her body. I love natural beauty.

In what ways do you identify with Ziva?
My character’s strength is like mine, to a completely different degree. Losing family members because of a war… I have moments when I just have to hold my heart. But I also have to remember that if I played the character from my point of view, she’d be falling apart all the time. She has to keep it together–it’s the world she grew up in.

What were some of the bigger challenges you faced in order to play her?
I had literally forty-eight hours to learn a monologue in Hebrew. That was terrifying. I used to look down on people who were, for example, playing a Latin role, because I could tell that they didn’t speak Spanish. It would get on my nerves. Then I realized, Oh, God, I’m in that place right now. Everything I had judgments on has turned around and bitten me in the butt.

NCIS fans want more quality time between Ziva and Tony [Michael Weatherly]. Are you dating anyone in real life?
I’m in a long-term relationship with [actor] Diego Serrano, and I’m very happy. He’s the worst influence that I have ever had in my entire life, and I love him for it. [Laughs] Every once in a while, he turns to me and goes, “Live a little.” I’ll have chicken with broccoli and he’s like, “What about the chocolate cake?” If it weren’t for him, I’d be the most boring person in Los Angeles.

What do you like to do together?
My partner’s idea of fun is to dress up, get in the car, pump the music, go clubbing. I could not be further away from that. I love being at home, having friends over. For me, a great time is an intimate dinner, candles, fantastic bossa nova in the background, wonderful wine, food, conversation for hours without having to go anywhere. So we balance each other.

[Prevention, print edition, January 2011]

And here’s her recipe for what sounds like a delicious pasta sauce.

“One of my favorite things in the world, and also one of the simplest things to make, uses cherry tomatoes–the ones that are really sweet and really tiny.

“In winter, I heat up a big pan or wok and put in a lot of olive oil and a lot of garlic, pepper, and salt. I get a big yellow Spanish onion, put it in the food processor, and dice it. I throw that in the pan with the garlic and caramelize the onion so it’s nice and brown. Then I cut the tomatoes in half and throw them in, and let all of that cook for a while–I like my tomatoes caramelized with the onions. Put this sauce on top of any pasta, and throw any cheese you want on it. Delicious.”

I like her character on NCIS, especially the sexual tension with Tony (which I hope they don’t consumate until the very last episode of the series). I find it interesting how Cote seems like the anti-Ziva in real life. The Prevention article talks about how she hurt her neck doing a stunt for NCIS and turned to yoga to help with the pain. I can’t picture Ziva doing that.

Plus, she doesn’t seem to be obsessed with being thin and wrinkle-free, like so many Hollywood actresses. If you’re healthy inside, it will show on the outside, and Cote is a great example of that.

Note by Kaiser: I love her! Ziva David is a great television heroine. And I think Ziva and Tony have already consummated plenty. Remember that trip to Paris?

Lisa Edelstein of House hooks up with a recently separated artist

Celebrities Comments Off

wenn2949445
This week’s National Enquirer cover story is “Who’s Gay & Who’s Not,” and a 44-year-old unmarried actress like Lisa Edelstein seems like ripe fodder for gay rumors. But the mag also claims Lisa is dating an artist named Robert Russell.

Sexy House doctor Lisa Edelstein has found love on and off the screen. Lisa — whose TV character is embroiled in a red-hot romance with Hugh Laurie’s gruff Dr. Gregory House on the popular FOX series — is now dating artist Robert Russell, The Enquirer has learned.

“Lisa has really clicked with Robert,” said an insider. “They have great chemistry and share a love for art and social causes.”

The 44-year-old never-married actress, who portrays no-nonsense hospital administrator Dr. Lisa Cuddy on the medical drama, has kept her relationship with Robert under wraps for the past few months. But the two decided to go public in early December and were photographed together at the AIDS Research Alliance Press Conference in Los Angeles on Dec. 1 and then at the L’Oreal Women of Worth Awards in New York on Dec. 9.

Although she dated her Finnish yoga instructor Petri Raisanen throughout 2007 and artist Giammario Villa in 2008, Lisa has been busy with the show and focusing on her charitable causes for the past two years. Her favorite charities include Best Friends Animal Society, Save the Children, Planned Parenthood and amfAR.

“Lisa’s never been married because she’s extremely picky about men,” explained the insider. “And for the last year or so, Lisa’s favorite companions have been her beloved rescue dogs.”

But all that changed when Lisa met 39-year-old Robert.

“They are both art lovers and Robert is also a big believer in animal sanctuaries and causes,” revealed the insider.

Robert, who has two small children, split with his 38-year-old wife, Paulina Quintana, in August after almost eight years of marriage. He filed for divorce in LA in November, citing irreconcilable differences.

Despite the fact that Robert jumped into his romance with Lisa only a short time after his marriage breakup, his estranged wife told The Enquirer that she bears no ill will toward Lisa. Said Paulina, a children’s clothing designer: “I’ve never met Lisa, but I’m sure she’s a lovely person.”

[National Enquirer, print edition, January 10, 2011]

I remember reading that Lisa was picky about men, so I’m glad to read she’s found love. I hope it lasts and it’s not just a rebound for him. Lisa seems like a smart woman, and I applaud anyone who supports animal charities.

I haven’t watched House this season, so I don’t know how well the House/Cuddy romance is working, but I’m not a fan of it in theory. It seems like a “jump the shark” move. Right or wrong, House fans?

Note by Celebitchy: I think House definitely jumped the shark when Cuddy hooked up with House. I can’t believe she would willingly get with him, and the show seems more outrageous than usual this season.

Note by Kaiser: I like their romance. I also think the writers had to do it - it makes sense that they would give each other a chance, I think. Plus, it’s interesting seeing a romance between two over-40 professionals on network television, and I think they’re being somewhat realistic with how the romance is dealt with. I can’t wait for Candace Bergen to come on as Mother Cuddy!

Simon Le Bon talks about Duran Duran’s follow-up album to Rio, 30 years later

Celebrities Comments Off

wenn3119621

Way back in junior high, I loved Duran Duran. If you think Justin Bieber fans are dedicated, they are lightweights compared to the Durannies. To this day, I can still remember every word to every Duran Duran song from the 80s, yet I have to double-check my own zip code.

Well, Duran Duran is still around. Their new album, called All You Need Is Now, was produced by Mark Ronson.

Simon Le Bon (squeeee) and Nick Rhodes talked to Time magazine about the past and future.

Ronson has called All You Need Is Now “an imaginary follow-up to Rio”–your hit 1982 album. Whose idea was that?

Le Bon: Mark comes from a fan’s perspective. He said that he was a little disappointed as a kid because [our third album] didn’t really seem to fulfill our promise. Mark wanted to get back to the sense of experimentation from our first two albums. He would say, “No, that’s too normal, too normal. I want you to be more out there.”

Do you feel that your audience has changed over the years?

Rhodes: The Internet has changed the way people consume music. Kids now are likely to have some of our music, some Beatles, some Kanye. They mix it all up a lot more.

Do you have second thoughts about your early fashion choices?

Le Bon: People ask this question a lot. And I look at them and think, O.K., maybe it looks strange now. But at the time it was cool.

Rhodes: I’ve still got all my clothes from the videos. Museums are calling me up all the time.

The band is named after the villain in the movie Barbarella. Does Jane Fonda know?

Le Bon: Absolutely. I saw her recently, and she said, “At first, I thought you were having a laugh at my expense. But later on, when I was in a more humorous relationship, I saw the funny side of it.”

[Time, print edition, January 10, 2011]

I doubt I’ll buy the new album. I listened to the new single All You Need Is Now on the official site, and the chorus sounds a little like vintage D2 but the rest is sort of annoying. I prefer to remember Duran Duran as they were in the Save a Prayer video.

Note by Kaiser: Simon Le Bon 4 Eva. I still think he looks incredibly hot.

Nick Lachey has to pretend to be his own assistant

fp_5609873_minnilo_vanessa_
You have to feel a little bad for Nick Lachey: he finally gets engaged and all anyone wants to know is how he feels about Jessica Simpson.

To add insult to injury, he has to pretend to be his own personal assistant, according to In Touch Weekly.

The Sing-Off host Nick Lachey has found his future wife, but he’s still missing another kind of partner — a personal assistant! However, the singer, who proposed to longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, 30, in November, still seems to want to keep up the appearance that he has his own staff.

“We get calls from Nick Lachey’s ‘assistant,’ who sounds very much like Nick himself,” a business associate of the star, 37, tells In Touch. “Funny how he and this assistant have the same exact voice!”

[In Touch, print edition, January 10, 2011]

Maybe he’s just trying to save money for his upcoming wedding. Nick hinted that he and Vanessa may wed on New Year’s in Tuscany. Hopefully he won’t have to pretend to be his own best man.

Brendan Fraser is dating a hairdresser

Celebrities Comments Off

wenn3112012
Although I can’t name anything Brendan Fraser’s starred in the last decade, I still have love for him from Encino Man. I probably saw that movie a dozen times.

I thought I heard his marriage was in trouble. Apparently he split with his wife years ago after an alleged fling with Maria Bello and is now dating a “civilian.”

Although they are rarely in the public eye together, Brendan and Natalia Bruschi, a hairdresser at L.A.’s Fred Segal, are going strong.

“Brendan is very private about Natalia, but that doesn’t mean he’s not into her,” a pal tells Star. “He says she’s the love of his life.”

They toasted their second anniversary with romantic candlelit dinners in Manhattan — where Brendan, 42, was starring in the Broadway play Elling — during the first weekend of December.

But a trip down the aisle isn’t likely just yet. After splitting from wife of 12 years Afton Smith in 2007, the dad of three “isn’t ready to remarry, because the split was so painful,” says the source. “But Natalia knows he’s in it for the long haul with her.”

[Star, print edition, December 27, 2010]

Is it too easy to go for the balding-actor-dating-a-hairdresser joke? Thought so.

According to IMDB, Brendan’s been working steadily, including several sequels to The Mummy, and a turn on Broadway.

He seems like a genuinely nice guy who isn’t into the Hollywood scene, so it’s a shame if an on-set fling broke up his marriage, but good for him for finding a stable relationship again.

Brendan Fraser is shown at the premiere of Elling on 11/21/10. He’s shown with costars Jennifer Coolidge, Denis O’Hare, and Jeremy Shamos. Credit: WENN.com

Note: this is Fraser’s Broadway co-star Jennifer Coolidge, not his new girlfriend.

The Bachelor “winner” Vienna needs a job

Celebrities Comments Off

wenn3082657
The new season of The Bachelor is going to start Monday, January 3. I’ve never watched it, but the tabloids love it, so I figure I’ll give it a shot.

First, let’s catch up with last season’s “winner,” Vienna Girardi.

Let’s just say her 15 minutes are up. Girlfriend needs a job. Literally. And hooking up with Mark Salling of Glee doesn’t count.

Since splitting from Vienna Girardi in June, Bachelor star Jake Pavelka has gone back to his pre-TV life as an airline pilot. But his ex-fiancee tells Star it hasn’t been such an easy transition for her: “I can’t just apply for a job and think I’ll be treated normally. People think you’re a villain if ABC makes you out to be one.”

During one recent interview for a front desk position at a spa in L.A., Vienna says everything seemed to be going well until “the girl who interviewed me brought her boss over to pose in a photo with me. It was just so uncomfortable.”

And if she doesn’t find something in the next eight months, when the lease on her condo is up, Vienna says she’ll have to pack it in and move home to Florida. “I’m on Craigslist every day looking at ads — that’s what it’s come down to.”

[Star, print edition, December 20, 2010]

She must be fuming at all the tabloid attention Ali Fedotowsky gets. Vienna probably would have been better off losing The Bachelor and getting to be The Bachelorette like Ali did.

Actually, Vienna should go out and get a real job. Does she really expect sympathy for having to look on Craigslist when so many people are out of work?

The 14th season of The Bachelor will feature the return of Brad Womack, who is supposedly hated because he didn’t choose anyone to propose to on his first go-round. Brace yourselves for the tabloid onslaught.

Vienna Girardi is shown hosting ‘The Ultimate Girls Night Out’ at Chippendales at The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, Nevada on 11/5/10. That’s a job that many women would pay good money for! She probably got paid more for that than most people earn in a couple of months.

There’s already drama behind the scenes of Criminal Minds’ spin-off

Celebrities Comments Off

streamy awards 2 120410
Criminal Minds is a popular procedural show, like NCIS and CSI, that is getting a spin-off, but all may not be well on the set of Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior.

First, producers of the original Criminal Minds basically fired actress A.J. Cook, who played the popular character J.J., and were going to cut down on actress Paget Brewster’s screen time. Fan outcry kept Paget’s character Emily Prentiss on the show, and it looks like they’ve replaced J.J. with another blonde, Rachel Nichols as Agent Ashley Seaver.

The new show Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior has a solid cast. Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker heads the unit, and Janeane Garofalo plays Agent Beth Griffith. But Janeane seems to be a bit disillusioned about how twisted the plots of CM really are.

Don’t get Janeane Garofalo wrong — she’s happy working on Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, the upcoming spin-off of the popular CBS crime drama. In fact, she even named her new dog Unsub, after a bit of the show’s jargon. But she sometimes wonders if the show has to be so creepy.

“I don’t mean to be such a puritan, but if I had kids, I would not allow them to watch,” Garofalo tells TV Guide Magazine. “That’s an issue I grapple with.”

Garofalo plays Agt. Beth Griffith on the procedural, which stars Oscar winner Forest Whitaker (a premiere date is not yet set). “Before I [signed on], I had discussions with the producer/creators, and was led to believe the show would not be so violent,” she says. The episode she’s currently shooting involves a female corpse being dragged to sundry crime scenes. “I don’t believe we need to find clever ways for somebody to slice somebody up.”

Garofalo says the producers have been “very open” to her concerns and adds, “I don’t mean to sound like I’m criticizing, because I’m thrilled that they want to hire me. I’m still surprised by it.”

[TV Guide, print edition, December 20, 2010]

Criminal Minds has some of the creepiest story lines on network TV. One of the reasons Mandy Patinkin gave for leaving the show was reportedly because he thought there was too much violence, so Janeane may need to reconcile her ideals with the direction of the show if she wants to stay on it.

Forest Whitaker apparently doesn’t have much patience for nervous guest stars on the show, as Justine Bateman found out the hard way, according to the Enquirer.

Exasperated Oscar winner Forest Whitaker walked off the set of his new CBS series, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, when flustered guest star Justine Bateman could NOT stop flubbing her lines — and he told the director: Don’t call me back until she gets it right! Justine, a TV vet who starred for years on the smash sitcom Family Ties, has just one small paragraph of dialogue, but kept flubbing it — and the more she flubbed, the more nervous she became. After 30 embarrassing minutes of hearing her say, “I’m really sorry,” Whitaker stormed off. An hour later, the director finally decided he’d shot enough takes to correct Bateman’s ongoing bungles in the editing room. Called back to the set, Whitaker delivered his response to Justine’s d-d-d-dialogue — in just one perfect take!

[National Enquirer, print edition, January 3, 2011]

I can’t decide if this makes Forest sound like a douche or a frustrated professional. Maybe a little of both.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior will probably be a hit, like CSI: Miami and NCIS: Los Angeles are. I don’t know if I’ll be watching. I haven’t been watching Criminal Minds as loyally this season. I think I’m burned out on way-twisted serial killers of the week, and I think Janeane is wrong: the show is trying to find new ways to slice somebody up.

Forest Whitaker is shown on 10/9/10. Justine Bateman is shown on 4/11/10 and 2/21/09. She looks so rough! Janeane Garofalo is shown on 2/4/10. Credit: WENN.com

Rumer Willis dating Mark Salling so she can get on “Glee”

Celebrities Comments Off

mark salling tao 031010
There was a rumor that Rumer Willis (see what I did there?) was dating Chord Overstreet, one of the new guys on Glee.

But Enquirer says it’s not Chord, but Hollywood bad boy Mark Salling that Rumer has hooked up with, and she has an agenda: She wants to be on Glee.

There’s a secret behind Rumer Willis’ hot new romance with Glee hunk Mark Salling — she wants him to get her on his show!

The 22-year-old daughter of film stars Bruce Willis and Demi Moore set her sights on Mark in October, and the relationship “quickly became intense,” an insider told the Enquirer.

They’ve already met each other’s parents — and Mark has proved to be a big hit with Demi, Bruce and Rumer’s stepdad Ashton Kutcher.

But Rumer wants more than a romance. She sees Mark as her ticket to TV fame, says the insider.

Rumer Willis is shown on 10/11/10. Credit: Fame. Mark Salling is shown on 2/10/10.

“Rumer’s wanted to be a singer for years, and she thinks Glee would be the perfect vehicle to showcase her talent,” the insider continued.

…Before meeting Rumer, Mark, 28, earned a reputation as Hollywood’s “hookup king” and has been linked with Paris Hilton, The Hills hottie Audrina Patridge, Disney cutie Selena Gomez, Bachelor winner Vienna Girardi and singer Samantha Marq.

“But Rumer definitely has settled him down,” the insider maintained.

And Mark is doing his best to pull strings for Rumer with Glee execs, says the insider. So far, however, nothing has been finalized.

Said the insider: “Rumer has dreams of her and Mark becoming Hollywood’s next power couple.”

[National Enquirer, print edition, December 20, 2010]

If this article has any truth in it, Rumer sounds delusional.

First, Mark Salling is too much of a player to settle down right at the height of his fame.

Second, Mark reportedly isn’t getting along with Glee’s producers, so Rumer would be better off dating Lea Michele to get a guest spot on Glee.
